Thryve Weekend

Thryve Weekend is a three-day intensive workshop hosted by Startup Tucson. Thryve Weekend teaches entrepreneurs how to validate their business ideas and plans before they even launch them. The skills you learn at Thryve Weekend will be used over and over again as you grow your business or businesses.

Thryve Studio

Thryve Studio is a 10-week, 165-hour, peer-group training program that helps companies launch. Your Thryve Cohort includes connection with key mentors, individualized training from business experts and executives in our community, a platform for your team to work, and a robust alumni program to support your growth. Mentor Program

Startup Tucson & Thryve Mentors are individuals with a generous spirit and a desire to help grow our regional entrepreneurship ecosystem by actively helping companies. Mentors bring their own unique experiences including industry, investment, and/or entrepreneurship experience. They will work with local startups pro bono, without expectation of reward or compensation, will share knowledge and guidance freely, and will open up their networks when appropriate.

Meet the Instructor

Tony Ford

Tony Ford has over 25 years experience in media, marketing, and business development. He is the co-founder of and and is currently creating new storytelling methods for film and virtual reality as CEO of Darc Fusion. He holds an MBA in International Business and is certified in a gile project management. A frequent national speaker and trainer, Tony has also been a TEDx speaker and coaches executives and companies to scale in his role with Startup Tucson.

Starting with a full day of orientation on July 14, 2018 Thryve takes place every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5:30-7:30pm and Saturdays from 9am -1pm at Connect Coworking for 10 weeks with the final class and graduation occurring on September 15, 2018.

In the first 5 weeks, all 20 companies worked together to cover the critical basic lean business launch skills and develop their business concept through validation, testing, research, and branding. At week 5, we down selected from 20 teams to the 10 teams with the highest probability of success and those 10 teams will go through a 5-week intensive program on getting their business ready to raise capital and enter the market.

Valued at over $10,000 – Startup Tucson automatically grants all selected applicants a scholarship of $7000 for Thryve Studio. Of the remaining $2850 in course fees, some additional scholarships are available and will be determined as part of the application process. Payment plans are also possible.

More Than Just Training – The Tools and People You Need to be Successful

Thryve also includes connection with key mentors, training by critical business experts and executives in our community. workspace for your team and a robust alumni program to support your growth. We bring in the full compliment of resources built by Startup Tucson to transform Tucson’s economy and can connect you with everyone you need to build your business from government regulators, to bankers; marketers to investors. Thryve is a 10 week incubator based on the successful venture incubator programs globally. The cost for this program is $10,000 per company. We’ve had students and executives travel from around the United States to take part in Thryve. This program has already helped generate millions of dollars in revenue and capital investment for companies that have completed the training.

Every company accepted to this program automatically receives a major partial scholarship for the program thanks to the generous supporters of Startup Tucson.

Your company is only responsible for only 10-40% of the cost for Thryve Accelerator. We also have additional scholarships available for select companies based on financial need, potential impact and ability to self-fund this critical training. You can apply for additional scholarships during the application process for Thryve. A limited number of companies can receive a 100% scholarship for participation based on their application.
