Starting just in time to help with our most recent June Thryve Weekend, Courtney Pulitzer and Dre Voelkel are now a part of the Startup Tucson team and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Courtney is joining us as our Development and Admin Director. Coming to us from Sun Corridor Inc. (thanks Joe!), Courtney understands the nuances of local economic development and brings a wealth of experience in regional ecosystem building to this role. Prior to Sun Corridor, Courtney spent many years working nationally and abroad in the tech and dot-com industry and is looking forward to returning to a more startup focused role. In her new role, Courtney will lead all our development and fundraising to ensure that we remain sustainable as we grow and continue to deliver on our mission.
The new lead for the design and execution of Thryve and TENWEST, Dre joins us as our Programs and Events Director. Dre brings to this position a diverse background in both public and private sectors, focusing on community building through innovative and research-based initiatives. Dre comes to us from a local consulting firm that assisted major national utilities engage customers in emerging tech-based energy efficiency practices where she lead their business development and marketing, including all event design. Prior to this position, Dre has worked directly with communities in New York and Chicago, helping them address critical issues and make changes for impact.
Courtney and Dre join Startup Tucson at an exciting time for us. They will be pivotal in the continued development of our Thryve Venture Development Program and growth of our annual IdeaFunding Conference and TENWEST Festival. A big part of our excitement in bringing Courtney and Dre onboard is their passion for helping build impact and community in Tucson as a whole.
